Bio
Steven Tsounis is a Principal on the Learning Content Development Team for Data and AI at IBM.  He currently leads a team in creating content focused on business automation solutions for IBM Sales Teams, Business Partners, and Clients. 
Steven has over 20 years of experience working with technology solutions.  After graduating from the State University of New York , University at Albany, he worked in the Financial Services industry for five years supporting the development and deployment of mission critical applications.  Early in his career, Steven obtained his Master of Science in Information Systems degree from Pace University in New York City. 
Prior to joining IBM, Steven worked as a Data Modeler designing Db2 (both mainframe and distributed), SQL Server, and Oracle databases to satisfy requirements for OLTP, OLAP, DSS, MDM, and Data Warehouse systems.  He joined IBM in 2006 and worked as a Technical Sales Specialist supporting clients in developing cost-effective solutions to advance their business initiatives for over 15 years before transitioning to the Learning Content Development Team.  From a database perspective, he has supported clients with successful deployments of Db2, Db2 pureScale, and Netezza.

Db2 continues to evolve to be a multi-modal database that can serve a variety of data needs. As such there have been many features that have been introduced over the years to support performance and storage optimization in a cost-effective manner. This session will highlight a number of these features related to performance to show how Db2 has evolved to support various workloads.
